Polymerisation Initiator:
PLASPEROX
DTB, an
excellent source of free radicals, has gained wide acceptance as a
polymerization initiator where cure temperatures of 2120F (1000C)
or more are required. The unique stability characteristics of this material
allows close control of the reaction at all times. Equivalent experimentation
has shown a greater efficiency in conversion from monomer to polymer per unit
weight of catalyst than that achieved with other free radical peroxides in
general use.
PLASPEROX DTB
as a ready source of free radicals, finds applications in production of the
following high molecular weight polymers; polyacrylates, high styrene resins,
polystyrene, polyisoprene, polymerized oils, vinyl silicones, styrenated
alkyls, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene resins, styrenated esterified epoxy
resins and alkyl polymers among others.
Coupling
and Vulcanisation Agent:
PLASPEROX DTB
may also be employed effectively as a coupling and vulcanization agent in the
production of vulcanized rubber. Another general application is in the
modification of bodying of unsaturated oils, thereby producing an upgraded
product.
HANDLING & STORAGE:
PLASPEROX DTB
is a flammable oxidizing yellow label material. Always store it in original
container in a cool dark place. Keep it away from manufacturing area and
separated from materials which could induce decomposition.
